Paul Bernard Caldwell, age 90 of South Knoxville, passed away peacefully at his home on August 1st, 2025. Paul, a United States Marine, was proud to have served his country. From the marines, he went on to work at Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where he played an important role in the Apollo Mission. After relocating to Tennessee, Paul became a founding partner in CD&A Engineering, where he concluded his career. Paul had a personal relationship with his savior, Jesus Christ and has now been received into God's kingdom. He was a caring man, to know him was an honor. Paul was a humble man with a huge heart. He was a deacon in the church, a loving husband, an outstanding father, and a good cook. He enjoyed a good (clean) joke, spending time with friends and family- especially at UT football games. He also loved to travel with his wife and family. Preceded in death by mother Pauline Rader, father Bernard H. Caldwell, step-mother Perle Caldwell, grandson Spenser P. Sharp. Survived by wife Judith A. Caldwell, daughter Lydia Sharp, son Paul J. "Buzz" Caldwell (Paula), daughter Rebekah "Bekki" Wilhoite (Cody Parker), granddaughters Judy Sharp and Phoebe Wilhoite, grandson Jeremy Sharp (Johanna), great-grandson Anakin Sharp, great-granddaughter Jovie Sharp, best friends Dave Gaddis and Philip Fann. The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers and hospice workers that were so caring and made this transition as peaceful as possible. To the amazing angels: Nadine, Allison, Teresa, Patricia, and Katina, and from UT Hospice: Deb, and especially Heather, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home. Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:15pm Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Highway for a 12:30pm committal service.
