Opal White Smith

Opal White Smith, age 91, of Powell, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2025. Opal was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She loved ceramics, flowers, and gardening.

Opal is preceded in death by husband, Clarence Smith, Jr., parents, Claude and Mossie White; sisters, Irene Pate, Bessie Rutherford, Edna Stooksbury, Cleo Brooks, Trula Mantooth, Frances Hatmaker, Loretta Gentry, Gail Hatmaker; and brother, Frank White.

Survived by sisters, Bertha Foster, Elvelean Stanley, and Ella Dyer; also leaving behind a several nieces and nephews.

A call at convenience will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. Family and friends will meet Sunday, August 31, 2025, at 1:45 PM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery for a 2:00 PM graveside service officiated by Rev. Tom Aikens.
