Nelia Capps

Nelia Ann Capps, age 84, of Knoxville passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted member of American Baptist Church, she lived her life with deep faith and a sincere heart for others. Nelia was known for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and her dedication to her church community. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and steady presence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles Capps, mother, Maude Howard, father, Murphy Greenlee, sons, Danny and Robert Capps, and her three granddaughters. She is survived by her daughters. Kathy LeQuire, Garlin Campbell (David), Angel Nuchols (Bobby), son, Bobby Capps, brother, Phil Greenlee (Pat), several grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a very special friend, Joy Ireson. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel from 4:00pm - 6:00pm with a service at 6:00pm officiated by Rev. Cody Wright. Family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at 6:45am to go in procession to East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.
