Nathaniel Stewart Jr., 77, of Memphis, TN, passed away on January 5, 2026. He loved Gospel music and his snacks, especially his popcorn, peanut butter, and sprite zeros. He also loved watching YouTube, Bewitched, and Westerns. Nathaniel worked as a truck driver for 4-5 years before retiring in 2009. Previously, he worked as a Manufacturing Supervisor for most of his life. He had the most contagious laugh, and gave the biggest hugs that would take your breath away. He would laugh at anything, and was very family oriented.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thennia Mae Stewart and Nathaniel Stewart, Sr.; brothers, Larry Stewart, Jerry Stewart, and David Stewart; sister, Valerie Stewart; his son, Calvin Strickland; son-in-law, James Dodd, and grandson, Derandon Stewart.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Ethel Stewart; sons, Nathaniel Stewart III (Millie), Alvin Stewart, Marvin (Monica) Stewart, David Taylor, and Jeremy (Shenia) Taylor; daughters, Mary Stewart, Kiwjuana (Calanthe) Jefferson, Precious Dodd, and Keena (Matthew) Holloway; Sister, Phyllis Simpkins; 18 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, also loved by all of his nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 13th, 2026 from 11:30am-1:30pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Friends and family will go in procession to New Gray Cemetery for a 2pm Graveside Service.
