Nathan Leon Karnes

Nathan Leon Karnes, age 78, of Knoxville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. He was born on September 16, 1945 to the late Adrian and Irene Karnes. He worked at Rice Oldsmobile and East TN Ford for many years before becoming the owner/operator of Karnes Auto Body Shop. He was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. Leon is preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Irene Karnes; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Jean Reed; daughter, Donna Karnes; nephews, Jimmy Whitt and Richard Karnes. Survivors include his wife Linda Karnes, brothers, A.G. Karnes (Becki), Fred Karnes (Judy), Donnie Karnes (Debbie); sisters-in-law, Pat Whitt (Jim), and Sheila Reed; special niece, Deborah K. Hayes, as well as several nieces and nephews.  The family would like to say a special thanks to the staff at NHC Fort Sanders for the care they provided Leon and his family. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel from 5:00-7:00PM with a service following at 7:00PM, Pastors Mark McCoig and Phil Young officiating. Family and friends will plan to meet at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 10:00AM and go in procession to Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00AM interment. Pallbearers; A.G.
