Nancy Helton O'Callaghan

Nancy Helton O’Callaghan Age 82, of Knoxville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Nancy was a devoted member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she was actively involved in the Senior Adult Ministry. She attended the Women’s College of North Carolina and the University of Tennessee, where she was a member of the Nine O’clock Cotillion and the Junior League of Knoxville. She spent many years as a flight attendant and delighted in sharing stories from her travels. A gifted artist, Nancy’s paintings are cherished by those fortunate enough to receive them. She was also a talented actress, appearing in The Gingerbread Lady at the Knoxville Bijou Theatre in 1983, A Way with Words at the Knoxville Museum of Art, and Dracula the Musical at the West Side Dinner Theatre in 1994, among others. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lou Helton, and several beloved aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sisters Becca Davenport (Tom), Scotty Wilkins (Jim), and Phyliss Hutchison; her son Tyge O’Callaghan (Shannon); and her granddaughter Chloe O’Callaghan. She is also survived by her nephews Trever Hutchison (Liza) and Corey Cason(Brandy), nieces Jamie Lackey (Kenny), Anna Catherine Davenport, Tess Frear (Derek), Mary Clayton Brady (Keith), Micheall Jeffers (Tim), and Laurie Trotter (Tylor) along with several cousins and great-nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 13, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 544 N. Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917. Family and friends are invited to gather at 2:00p.m., with light refreshments to be served.
