Nancy Lee Morgan, age 86, moved to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 23,2026 after a valiant and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Nancy was born in Congress, Ohio to the late Betty and Clarence Massie. She began her career in the 1950s as an administrative assistant with the Secretary of the Navy at the Pentagon, then worked in Banking in Greenville, TN before becoming a housewife in Huntsville AL with the birth of her four children. In Knoxville, she began her secretarial career at the University of Tennessee for 20 years working in the Chemistry, Social Work and lastly the Audit and Management departments. After retirement, she earned her C N A license, then also worked at Shades of Development after school care. Nancy had a servant’s heart and throughout her life she enjoyed working with children and volunteering. She led a neighborhood “Good News Club” on Monte Sano Mtn in the 70s, Children’s Church, and later in life volunteered at UT hospital, Contact Telephone ministries, and contributed in other volunteer capacities. She was an avid hiker (Mt LeConte 42 times) and square dancer.She loved all people and shared a contagious smile. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children, Sam Morgan, her son Dave Morgan, brothers Rod and Jerry Massie, and her sister Bev Crebs.
Survivors include son Dan Morgan, Joey Morgan, daughters Lori (Todd) Guess and Cathy Perreault; grandchildren, Hannah and Gabe Guess, Chris, Will and Max Perreaut; niece who was like a daughter Deb (Mark) Stephens; and special friend and walking buddy, Linda Guess.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Central United Methodist Church 201 3rd Avenue Knoxville, TN 37917 followed by a 7:00 pm funeral service.. Rev Jimmy Sherrod and Rev Diana Brown-Taylor officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:45 am Friday July 3, 2026 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 graveside service.
