Nancy Cathern Carpenter

Nancy Cathern Drummonds Carpenter, age 81, peacefully passed away at home on March 25, 2023. Nancy was born September 4, 1941 in Pennington Gap, VA to Isom L. and Florence Drummonds. She received Christ as her Savior at the age of 9. She is a member of Salem Baptist church, She graduated from Claiborne County High School in 1959 and graduated from Knoxville Business College in 1961. Nancy married Jackie Owen Carpenter December 24, 1962. Nancy is preceded in death by parents, Isom and Florence Drummonds; husband Jackie Owen Carpenter; sister Linda Drummonds Surber. Nancy is survived by her two sons Richard and wife Becky, Dan and wife Susan; grandchildren Anna, Emily and Robert (Charlotte) Carpenter; sister Clara (Cupp) Young; brother and sister-in- law Bobbie and Gail Drummonds; brother-in-law Don Surber; Jacks’s sister Audrey Evans; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends 11:00-1:00pm Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow. Family and friends will then meet at 2:45pm at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Claiborne County for a 3:00pm interment.
