Nancy Jean Carlisle

Nancy Jean (Wood) Carlisle, age 71, went home to be with the Lord and her precious son Philip on January 12, 2026. She was a member of Loveland Baptist Church. Nancy was dedicated to her service to the Lord’s house for over 30 years. She enjoyed decorating cakes, whether they were for weddings or birthdays, spending time with her family and grandson, who was the light of her life, and sitting in the company of her cat companion, Nico. Nancy was the glue that held her family together and she will be missed dearly. Preceded in death by beloved husband James “Jimmy” Carlisle, son Philip Wood, parents Glenn and Elizabeth Wood. Survived by grandchildren Jabin Wood, Braden and Lillie Grace Carlisle, siblings Paula Walden (David, Sr.), Larry Wood (Liz), and Sandy Fisher (Greg), daughter-in-law Koa Wood, best friend/sister Debbie Moody, nieces and nephews David Walden, Jr. (Linzy), Dr. Megan Huling (John), Tiffany Hood (Chris), Faith Fisher, great-nieces and nephews David Walden, III, Melody Walden, and Kennedy Walden, step-son Brad Carlisle (Melanie). Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm Friday, January 16, 2026, at Loveland Baptist Church, 1320 Springhill Road, Knoxville, TN 37914. Funeral service will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Loveland Baptist Church, 1320 Springhill Road, Knoxville, TN 37914, with Rev. Wayne Davis, Rev. William Purvis, and Rev. Craig Cummings officiating. Family and friends will then go in procession to Washington Pike Presbyterian Church Cemetery for interment. All services are in care of Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel.
