Mildred Lorene Hopson

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives you. Don’t let your hearts be troubled or fearful.

It is with our deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Mildred Lorene Hopson, 68, of Rutledge, Tennessee. She left us peacefully on August 21, 2025. Born on November 17, 1956, in Knoxville TN, she was known for her boundless love, unwavering kindness and selfless dedication to those she loved. To know Mildred was to know grace and strength. She was the cherished wife of 36 years to Charles M. Hopson and devoted mother to Michael Hopson (Kacye), Melissa Tipton (Josh), and Michelle Hopson. She found endless joy in being the grandmother to (Step) Amalee Hawkins, Chelsea Hopson (Blake), Zachary Hopson, Dawson Hopson, Corbin Tipton, (Step) Dylan Ramsey, (Step) Caden Baker, (Step) Brody Baker, and The Great Grandmother to (Step) Baylor Shumate, Wrenley Shumate, (Step) Lakin and Paisley Ramsey, and (Step) Oakleigh Baker.

Mildred was retired from East Tennessee Children’s Hospital. She found joy in her church family of Lea Springs Baptist Church. She was passionate about all of her grand and great grandchildren. Her home was filled with laughter, joy and playtime that we will hold dear in our memories forever. She was the heart of our family. Her legacy will live on in all of us, until we meet again.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cora (Humphrey) Miller; husband, Charles Michael Hopson; sister, Wilma Jean Drinnon; infant sisters, Carolyn and Angela. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Please join us in celebrating Mildred’s life and legacy on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Mynatt’s Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, in Halls Crossroads, TN. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Paul Owens. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 AM, on Monday, August 25, 2025, to go in procession to Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery for an 11:00 AM Graveside Service, officiated by Pastor Zeke Drinnon. Pallbearers will be Zachary Hopson, Dawson Hopson, Mathew Drinnon, Ezekiel Drinnon, Josh Tipton, Blake Shumate, and Honorary Pallbearer, Corbin Tipton.
