Mildred Caroline Claiborne Norman, died December 26, 2013 at Physicians’ Regional Hospital in Knoxville. She was born November 22, 1919, in Knoxville to Harry Alvin and Rosa Alice Roth Claiborne. Mildred graduated from Knoxville High School and National Business College. She was a homemaker and enjoyed genealogy and past volunteer work as a Pink Lady at Fort Sanders. She was proud of belonging to First Families of Tennessee. She was Presbyterian by faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Willard Wesley Norman. Survivors include daughters, Susan Norman Wallace and Phyllis Norman Brandon (Clark); grandchildren Dave Wallace (Jennifer), Amanda Wallace Atchley (John), Wesley Brandon, Jay Brandon, and Carol Brandon Barrett (Michael); great-grandchildren, Meredith Wallace, Ben and Ellie Atchley, Britton and Bryson Barrett. Family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home in Fountain City on Friday, December 17 from 5-7 PM. There will be a private family graveside service at a later date.
