Mike Nichols

Mike Nichols, age 77, of Knoxville, passed away at Beverly Park Place Health and Rehab on July 3, 2024. He was born on January 15, 1947 in LaGrange, Georgia, to the late James D. Nichols, Sr. and Danueline Nichols Brown. He was a 1965 graduate of Lanett High School, Lanett, Alabama. Mike loved his family, fishing, hunting, gardening, football and his beloved dog, Katie. Mike is survived by his wife of 54 years, Miriam Newton Nichols: daughters Amy (Steven) Shrader; Leigh Anne (Kevin) Carothers; grandchildren, Amber LaPaille and Jae Lynne Carothers; brothers, Doug “Chubby” (Rita) Nichols, Phil (Rheba) Nichols and sister Susan (Bobby) Lee; Aunt, Elaine McCollough, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Mike will be missed by his family and friends.
