Michael Joseph Zinzi Sr.

Michael J. Zinzi Sr. 78 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on March 4th, 2026 at home after a long illness. He grew up in New Jersey before retiring to Tennessee. He was a veteran of the Navy and Army. Michael was a college graduate of Rutgers university.

Michael was a devoted husband to his wife Shelagh M. Zinzi. They were married for 55 wonderful years together. They raised one son Michael Joseph Zinzi Jr.

He is pre-deceased in death by his parents, Samuel and Mary Zinzi and his brothers Sam, and Vincent

Michael is survived by his wife Shelagh Zinzi, son Michael J Zinzi Jr., grandchildren, Timothy, Emily, and Ryan, as well as a great granddaughter Dakota Jane. His sisters, Anita Zinzi, Maria Nigro Zinzi and Teresa DiSalvo; sister-in-law, Kathleen A. Joffe, along with many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the national kidney foundation or the American kidney fund.
