Michael Edward Lemons, Jr.

MICHAEL EDWARD LEMONS, JR. (56) of Knoxville, TN, passed away on September 27, 2023, at U.T. Medical Center. He was a graduate of South-Young High School, Class of 1985. He was a career over-the-road truck driver and a dedicated supporter of Veteran’s rights, working with Lost Vets Rescue, a non-profit organization helping homeless veterans obtain safe, affordable housing and essential services.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia “Kay” and Michael Lemons, Sr.; grandparents, Thomas and Jessie Schronce, and Edgar and Hazel Lemons.

He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Snyder (George), Angela Dixson (David), Hazel Woodard (Joe) and brothers, Mark Lemons (Kim) and Edgar “Eddie” Lemons; 15 nieces and nephews; step mother, Shirley
Lemons; dear friend, Marilyn Kraft, and “surrogate mom” and life-long mentor and friend, Willie
Branum.

A private memorial service is planned for October 14, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Michael’s name directly to Mynatt Funeral Home to help defray the costs of his cremation, or to Lost Vets Rescue, Willie Franklin at thelostvets.org
