Michael Dodd Bailey

Michael Dodd Bailey, 79, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away on October 6, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was a graduate of Holston High School and a proud Army veteran. Michael will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the many lives he touched throughout his years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Irwin Bailey; his three children, Carrie Givens (Jerry), Renee Quillin (David), and Lindsey Sams (Aaron); and his six beloved grandchildren, Ella Givens, Emmett Sams, Bailey Quillin, Oliver Givens, Clancy Quillin, and Paxton Sams.

Michael is also survived by his two brothers, John Douglas Bailey and Ernie Bailey (Chris), as well as many special family members, including beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and neighbors who held a special place in his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard Dodd Bailey and Eloise Harbison Bailey.

Michael's greatest legacy will be the love he shared with his family and the memories he created with those who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, extended family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel 2829 Rennoc Road Knoxville, TN 37918 followed by a Prayer Service.  Family and friends will meet 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 2200 E. Gov. John Sevier Hwy Knoxville, TN 37920 for a 10:00 a.m. committal service with full military honors provided by the East Tennessee State Veterans Honor Guard.  Condolences may be expressed at www.mynattfh.com.
