Melvin Lee Beal

Melvin Lee Beal, age 86, of Seymour, TN, went to be with his heavenly father on July 10, 2026.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Tusculum University and served four years with the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician during the Vietnam War. After his service ended, he worked for over 30 years with various electronics businesses before retiring as a Quality Control Engineer. He was a HAM radio operator, and in his spare time, he enjoyed restoring classic Volkswagens, woodworking, and gardening.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, George and Classie (Oaks) Beal.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Peggy (Roach) Beal; his two daughters, Amy Beal and Laura Krueger (James); and grandchildren, Keely and Katie.

Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 5-7pm at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 7pm with Dr. Keith Roach officiating.

Melvin will be laid to rest at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery-John Sevier on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 2pm.
