Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Horner

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Horner, age 81, of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023.
Liz was a member of Atkins Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a sweet and loving mother and
memaw. A 5-year-old Sunday School Teacher for over 15 years, she loved teaching children about the
Bible. Liz was also an avid cook and baker who loved to host holiday and family events.
Liz is preceded in death by her husband, Jay Horner, parents, John and Hassie Cooper, and brothers, Earl
and Ralph Rouse. Liz well be missed by her children, Troy “Peanut” Beeler (Michelle), Mandy Aldmon
(Tom); grandchildren, Thomas Aldmon (Jocelyn), Hannah Sherrod (Houston), Corey Anderson (Allison),
Zach Anderson (Kim), Nich Anderson (Nicole), siblings, Terry Cooper, Eddie Cooper, Sue Newman (Tommy), AC Cooper (Linda), nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers, Thomas Aldmon, Houston Sherrod, Corey Anderson, Zach Anderson, Nich Anderson, Donnie
Cooper, Jeffrey Newman, and Russell Jones.
Receiving of friends will be held for Liz on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5-7pm at Atkins Baptist
Church, 6115 Tazewell Pike, Knoxville, TN 37918. Funeral service to follow, A.C. Cooper officiating.
Internment will be held on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00am, Greenwood Cemetery.
