Mary Evelyn (McCarter) Cooper

Mary Evelyn Cooper, age 82, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 8, 2023. She was a member of Redemption Church for over 40 years and was very proud of working in the medical field until she was 77 years old. Mary Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Florence McCarter; brother, Don McCarter and sister, Carolyn Cummings. Mary Evelyn is survived by her loving sons, Chris Cooper and fiancé, Gillian Anisworth; Jon and Debbie Cooper; beloved granddaughters, Katie Cooper and Mary Anne Cooper; beloved four legged companion Babydoll; Dear friend who helped to care for Mary Evelyn, Kathy Bunch. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, June 12, 2023 at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel. The family and friends will meet by 10:45 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the main entrance to Greenwood Cemetery for an 11:00 AM graveside service with Pastor Nora King officiating.
