Martha Lou Kitts

January 28, 1935 — June 1, 2024


Martha Wallace Story Kitts, age 89, of Knoxville, TN, passed away on Saturday June,1 2024. She was a member of Bookwalter United Methodist Church. She retired from ORNL FCU as a branch manager.


Preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Laura Wallace; sisters, Betty (Lynn) Mashburn, MaryAnne (Jim) Huff; husband, Doug Story; Son Dan Story, husband Kermit Kitts.


Martha is survived by her sons, Mark (Tammy), Paul (Caroline); daughter, Beth (Joey) Brewer; step-Children, Kevin (Melissa) Kitts and their child;  Susan (Jeff) Messer, and their child. Janet (Jeff) Stalling and their children; grandchildren, Matthew McSwords, Paul Story II( Kari), Alex Story, Bryce Brewer, Josh Story, Brandon Story, and Hunter Story; great-grandchildren, Thomas Story, Kennedy Story, Adeline Pope, Sullivan Pope, and Sophia Godchaux; bonus daughter, Angela Beeler; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.


The family would like to thank UT Hospice staff Especially: Megan, Elizabeth, Chasity, Stephanie, and Janice for all they did for their family and for Martha.


Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 10:45AM for an 11:00AM graveside service, Rev. Steve Doyal officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bookwalter United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com
