Margie Joann Berney

Margie Joann (Brady) Berney, age 89, of Powell, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She loved the Lord, and was a charter member of Unity Baptist Church. She was a 1955 graduate of Norris High School.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Ona Brady; brother, Bruce Brady Jr.; and sister, Florence Brady.

She is survived by her loving husband of seventy years, Jack Berney; daughters, Jackie (Ronnie) Horner, Lori (Joe) Norris; grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica) Norris, Jennifer (Floyd) Archer, Rachael Holt, Jessica (Jacob) Hayes, Elisha (Nick) Grubb, April (Patrick) Swindle; and 16 great grandchildren.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother; she was a blessing to everyone. She will be remembered for her love of the Lord and her family.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Smokey Mountain Hospice for their care.

The friends and family may call at their convenience at Mynatt Funeral Home, Halls Chapel, from 11:00am to 6:00pm on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Family and friends meet at 11:45am on Friday, April 24, 2026 at Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery for a 12:00pm Graveside Service, with Rev. Joe Norris and Rev. Ronnie Horner officiating.
