Mabel Ruth Holsenback

Mabel Ruth Sumter Holsenback, age 73 of Halls, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 after a bravely-fought battle with cancer. She was a longtime member of Salem Baptist Church, graduate of Halls High School, faithful prayer warrior, and beloved Weight Watchers counselor for many years. She was preceded in death by parents, Oscar & Ruby Sumter, and brother, Tom Sumter. She is survived by husband, Jim Holsenback; daughter and son-in-law, Deanna & Doug Carpenter; son, Michael Holsenback; grandchildren, Holly Carpenter, Sarah Monett, Christopher and Jonathan Holsenback; brother, Dean Sumter; great-granddaughter, Lydia Holsenback; special friend, Alberta Dyer; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm at Salem Baptist Church. Service will follow at 7:00pm with Rev. Allen James and Rev. John Holland officiating. Family and friends will meet at Fort Sumter Community Cemetery at 10:45am Wednesday, October 31 for an 11:00am graveside service.
