Lucille Sellers Rayburn, age 94, was called Home on June 24, 2025. She was born in Washburn, TN. She was a graduate of Washburn High School in 1949. She moved to Knoxville, TN to pursue her nursing degree. She graduated from Fort Sanders Nursing School in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. She worked night shift on the medical/surgical floor at Fort Sanders Medical Center for 40 years. She retired in 1993. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Homer. Together, they traveled to 48 states, went on several cruises and were able to travel to Mexico and Canada. She was an active member of the Larry Cox Senior Center. She was a dedicated woman of faith and a long time member of Greenway Baptist Church. Lucille enjoyed taking day trips, volunteering with kids and seniors and social events. Lucille was actively involved in the Parkview Senior Living facility over the past two years. She encouraged all residents to participate in activities and parties. Her greatest joy was spending time with their kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Preceded in death by: loving husband of 68 years, Homer Rayburn; son and daughter in law, Robert (Bobby) and Christine Rayburn; parents Carl and Jathina Sellers; sisters Eula Sellers, Bonnie (Sam) Reid, Kathleen (Clyde) Clapp; brothers, Delmas (Lorene) Sellers, J.P. (Juanita) Sellers and L.C. Sellers.
Lucille is survived by her son, Chris (Karen) Rayburn; daughter, Karen (Charlie) Cardwell; grandchildren Misty (Kinny) Bittle, Liz Legere (David Wallace), Joseph Rayburn and Charlsea (Brandon) Williams; great grandchildren, Timothy Bittle, Tristan Wallace, Tucker Wallace, Georgia Rayburn, Brody Rayburn, Benton Williams and Carolina Williams; sister-in-law, Pat Sellers. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Parkview Senior Living facility for the kindness and love shown to Lucille over the past two years. She greatly enjoyed her time there. The family is grateful for the compassionate care that Parkwest Hospital Critical Care nursing staff shown to Lucille.
The Family will receive friends 10:00am -12:00pm on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. Pastor Darrell Griffis officiating. Procession and a graveside service will immediately follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Shriners Children’s Hospital in Lexington, KY.

Woodhaven Memorial Gardens
There will be a procession to Woodhaven Memorial Gardens immediately following the 12:00pm Funeral Service from Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel. Friends that do not wish to go in procession to the cemetery are free to meet at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens at 1:45pm.
