Louise Bagwell

Winnie Louise Ramsey Bagwell, age 83, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Emory Mills Assisted Living in Powell. Born August 5, 1942, in Murphy, North Carolina, Louise and her family moved to Oak Ridge in 1947. She later graduated from Powell High School in 1960. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, as well as a faithful Christian and a member of the Church of Christ. 

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Bagwell; children, Lynda Bagwell Creech (David) and Jeff Bagwell (Renee); grandchildren, Erin Creech Chesnut (Matthew), Amanda Bagwell White (Aaron), Bryan Creech and Logan Bagwell; great-grandchildren Aiden White, Jaxson White, Hailey Chesnut, Noah Chesnut and Hayes White; sister, Carolyn Ramsey Russell; special niece, Becky Davidson; brother-in-law Doug Bagwell (Kathy), and many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bascom Ramsey and Ruby Kephart Ramsey; mother-in-law Vera DeLenne Bagwell; and brothers-in-law Lloyd “Howdy” Russell, Thomas D. Bagwell and Bobby Bagwell.

The family offers special thanks to the neighbors of the Emerald Pointe subdivision and the staff at Emory Mills.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Mynatt Funeral Home Powell Chapel with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:00pm.  Brad Green officiating.  Family and friends will meet at 10:45am, Friday, May 8, 2026 at Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11:00am interment service.
