Lorene Maples Sanders Dalton, 94, of Corryton, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Sacred Ground Hospice House, with her daughter Cathy by her side. She will be remembered by her thoughtfulness, kindness and beauty. She was a floral designer for Baum's Florist and Halls Flower Shop for over 33 years. She loved her family dearly and her smile would light up the room. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Smith Lennon, son-in law Tim Lennon of Knoxville, grandchildren, Shaun Martin and wife Amanda of Olympia, Washington, Jonathan Martin and wife Maegan, great grandchildren, Monroe Caroline, August Elizabeth and Elijah (Fields) Martin of Knoxville, TN, and Chelsea Martin and Andy Wood of Knoxville. A very special niece Virginia Ann Cavin, friends, Marie Huddleston and Gloria Johnson, and sister-in-law Faye Dalton, all of whom she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her first husband of 9 years, Thurrell Clark “TC” Sanders Jr. who was tragically killed in an electrical accident while working for KUB. Loving husband of 58 years, Carson Elige Dalton; mother & father, Joseph Dallas Maples and Mary Magdelene Maples. siblings Curtis Maples, Clarence (Jay) Maples, Ruby Maples Beeler, Venena Maples Bates and Mary Nell Maples Carter. Faithful member of Clear Springs Baptist Church and Willing Workers Sunday School Class for over 65 years.
The family would like to thank Sacred Ground Hospice House staff and volunteers for their kindness, understanding and peace to an otherwise very sad and difficult time. The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 12:30 - 2:00 pm with 2:00 pm chapel service, interment Greenwood Cemetery. Officiated by Rev. Justin Pratt and Rev. Jerry Vittatoe. Pallbearers will include; Tim Lennon, Jonathan Martin, Shaun Martin, Andy Wood, Joseph Tipton, Mike Staley, David Farmer and Eric Hibler. Honorary pallbearers; Tom Spangler, Richard Lett, Michael Dalton and Daniel Bryant.
