Lois Jean Treece, age 87, passed away on the early morning of Thursday, June 12, 2025, in Knoxville, TN. She was born on July 9, 1937, in Knoxville, to Robert Beecher and Roxie Cox. She graduated from Halls High school in 1955. Lois drove a bus for Knox County Schools in the Halls area for many years. In 1986, she began working as a church secretary at Crossroads Presbyterian Church and retired after 34 years. She was a beloved member of Atkins Baptist Church. Lois had many accomplishments throughout her life with one of the greatest being the legacy she and her husband Bill built. She loved the Lord and was a dedicated prayer warrior with many of her dear friends who prayed together every day. Lois was a faithful and beloved friend, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Lois is preceded in death and now reunited with her loving husband, Bill Treece, son Rick Treece, grandson Jason Treece and granddaughter Christi Hampson.
Lois is survived by her sister, Joyce Ricketts; brother, John (Marien) Cox; her sons, Jim (Karen) Treece, Gary (Susan) Treece; her daughter, Melissa Treece; grandchildren, Scott (Jennifer) Treece, Justin (Ashley) Treece, Kimberly (Andrew) Poore, Chloe Reis, Kary (Jonathan) Pickard, Suzanne (Raven) Correll; family friend, Matt Marsee; her great-grandchildren: Christopher, Will, Micah (Amber), Wesley, Abram, Avery, Olivia, Eden, Arbor, Raelynn, Taelynn, Nolan, Heidi, Cooper; and great-great granddaughter, Adeline.
Her family would like to thank and acknowledge the nurses and staff at Morning Pointe in Powell who loved and cared so well for Lois during her final weeks, they were a blessing to all of us.
Receiving of friends will be held on Saturday, June 14 from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home-Halls Chapel, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM, officiated by Reverend Lee Murphy and Reverend A.C. Cooper. A Graveside service will immediately follow at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery at 2:00 PM. The Graveside service will be officiated by Micah Treece.
