Lois Jane Lohman, age 89, of Knoxville, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at her home after a brief illness. She had been a resident of Knoxville for over 20 years. She was born and raised Michigan until she moved to Ontario, Canada and Schererville, Indiana, before retiring in Knoxville.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Gerald and Ellen Hess; two sisters, Gale and Dale Hess; late husband, Lavern Lohman; two sons, Kelly & Kevin; grandson, Erich Lohman; and son-in law, Brad Epp.
She is survived by her brother, Phillip (Ginny), daughters and son, Karen Epp, Karl Lohman (Tara), Verna (Brian) Mansfield, Becky (Bobby) Newport; grandchildren, Ellen, David, Blake, Christian, Mary, Johanna, Peter, Katie and Andrew; great grandchildren, Lilyanna and Philip, as well as nephews and niece and many church friends and wonderful lifelong friends.
Lois was a voracious reader, working in the publishing business for various newspapers. She wrote many books, played piano, was a computer geek before her kids, loved photography, served as a missionary in Canada and especially loved her Lord and Savior and her Bible.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Temple Baptist Church, (Curtis Hudson Center) Powell, TN. Funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Clarence Sexton. Burial at The Tennessee Veterans’ Cemetery, John Sevier Highway on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at 12:30.
