With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife, Linda Mae (McMurray) Stansberry, who went home to be with our Savior on February 12, 2026, at the age of 79. Linda was the heart of our family — steady, loving, and fiercely devoted. She carried a quiet strength and a gentle, playful spirit that made everyone around her feel welcomed and cared for. Her love was constant and selfless. She put her family first in everything she did, and her presence was the foundation of the home she so beautifully built. Throughout her life, Linda moved numerous times, but no matter where she went, she had a remarkable gift for making friends and building community. She never met a stranger. People were drawn to her authenticity and the effortless way she made others feel important, understood, and at home in her presence. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures — music playing in the background, dancing around the room, decorating her home, and working with her hands. Linda also had a special talent for shopping bargains; nothing made her happier than finding a good deal for her children and grandchildren. She always kept her loved ones in mind. Linda had a deep love for animals, and many furry friends brought joy to her life over the years. She adored Samantha, Speedy, Joshua, Rocky, Sonya, Big and Little Fluffy, and Miss Kitty, among countless others. Her compassion for animals reflected the same warmth, care, and devotion she gave to her family and friends. Linda was known for her determination and tireless work ethic. She lived with independence and a true “can-do” spirit that inspired everyone around her. In her 60s, while living in Miami, Florida, she famously climbed onto her own roof to pressure wash and repair it rather than pay someone else — a story her family still tells with pride and a smile. That was Linda: capable, resilient, and never afraid of hard work. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love — a place where memories were made and traditions were carried on. To her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she was comfort, fun, wisdom, and steady encouragement all wrapped into one. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, David Stansberry Sr.; her children, David Stansberry Jr. and Jason Stansberry; her grandchildren, David, Hailey, Josh, Jakob, Kylee, Colin, Andrew, and Daniela Stansberry; and her great-grandchildren, Lana and Liam Johnson; Knox and James Stansberry, Alem and Miras Azamat; and Luke Stansberry. She is also survived by her stepmother, Dorothy Mae Parrish; and cherished step-siblings, including Mike and Harold Jones, along with many extended family members and dear friends who were blessed to know and love her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen McDaniel McMurray and William Robert McMurray; her stepfather, Lee Roy Jones; her children, Justin Bradley Stansberry and Sherry Denise Stansberry; her siblings, William Robert McMurray, Bobby Joe McMurray, Charlotte McMurray Ellis, and Frankie, Mark, Robert, Sandra, and Pamela Parrish; and her step-siblings David, Sally, and Steve Jones. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the love she poured into each of us will live on. Her faith, strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion will continue to guide our family for generations to come. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel, 2829 Rennoc Rd., Knoxville, TN 37918, with funeral service to follow at 7:00pm, Reverend Wayne Lay officiating.
