Lillian Gray Rutledge, of Knoxville, passed away October 4, 2017. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She loved her family dearly, especially her grandson and great-grandchildren. Lillian was preceded in death by her loving husband, John W. Rutledge; parents, Carlie & Ada Hall Gray; sister, Helen Rutledge; brothers, C. V. Gray, Robert Gray and Billy Gray. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie & Cheryl Rutledge; grandson and wife, Jason & Christy Rutledge; great-granddaughter, Keegan Rutledge; great-grandson, Jaxson Rutledge; sisters, Loraine Long and Virginia Bright; brothers, James Gray (Bettie) and David Gray (Joan); brother-in-law, James Casey Rutledge; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to Jefferson County Nursing Home and Amedysis Hospice for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of the donors choice. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00pm, Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel. Family and friends will meet at 12:45pm, Friday, October 6, 2017 at Greenwood Cemetery for a 1pm graveside service, Rev. Benjamin Lewis officiating.
