Leonard Mason Wood

Leonard Mason Wood, age 81, of Woollem, KY passed away in his grandson's home in Jacksboro, TN on Nov. 28, 2025.

His wife of 23 years was at his side. He was a beloved son, dad, husband, brother, uncle and grandpa. He loved being called Grandpa and Papa. Golfing, boating, shooting, racing any vehicle, scuba diving and flying his single engine plane and playing his guitars were things he loved to do. But, his favorite thing was sharing his knowledge on rebuilding engines and playing guitars. Music was his passion. He spent most of his working years in Las Vegas, NV working for casinos in management and rebuilding slot machines, plus two years in Argentina managing two casinos. Upon retirement he spent his time restoring boats, engines, go-carts and walking his dogs, plus traveling all over the lower 48 states with his wife, dogs and occasionally a few grandkids. He will be greatly missed!

Bud was born in Nevada City, CA on Nov. 19, 1944, to Leonard Miles Wood and Bette Taylor Wood White. He was preceded in death by both parents, MO, mother-in-Law, Virginia Bonta, MO, sisters Cathy Frey, OH, Sally Ford, NV, Virginia Wood, MO and grandson Tristan Burroughs, KY.

He was survived by his wife of 23 years, Clare Winola Bonta Wood; children Gregory and Desiree Wood, Michael and Toni Wood; stepchildren Jennifer Trickel, Wendi and Brian Burroughs, Peter and Alána Helton, Phillip and Selina Helton, 26+ grandchildren and great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, andbrother Donnie Wood.
