Leonard Dean Voiles, age 85 of Knoxville, TN went to be with the Lord on January 20, 2024. He is a member of Oliver Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, dad, Papaw and Great Papaw. He was an avid golfer, dirt track racer, traveler, classic car enthusiast and a very proud Air Force Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maggie and Luther Voiles. Brothers: Cubert, Bill, R.C., and sister Gladys. Also, a great grand-daughter Addison Nykole Voiles.
He is survived by wife, Sandra Wilson Voiles; son, Brian K. Voiles; daughter, Cheryl D. Brady; daughter, Kathleen M. Henson; daughter, Kristen M. Monroe; Brian’s wife, Dotti; sister-in-law: Diane S. Miller; Children, Bradley, wife Amy, children, Brayden and Brextyn, Lindsey, Nicholas, wife, Cari, children: Carlee, Kaelyn and Case and Mackenzie, children: Salem Rose, Skyler, Tristen, William and Ethan, Cheryl’s husband: Scott and chosen children, Taylor and Zakkary Kathleen’s husband: Zac, children: Andy, Caleb (wife: Hailey) Sarah, and Natasha husband: Tim) 3 children: Sofia, Leah and Timmy Kristen’s husband: Rory Beka, Jake, Rachael and Hannah.
Leonard also has 10 great-grandchildren. Leonard had “chosen” family. These are very close friends that he thought a lot of and treated them as family:
Karen, Gary, Jenny, Howard, Barbara, Dave and Shirley. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Leonard had a very charismatic personality along with giving a helping hand to anyone who needed it. His life was a testimony to what he believed and lived every day. The love and kindness he showed to everyone everyday was truly exceptional.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with service following on Monday, January 29, 2024 at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel 2829 Rennoc Rd. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 am at Lynnhurst Cemetery for graveside service on Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
