Lee Miracle, age 78, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2023.
Lee was born on February 26, 1945, to Hillary and Susie Miracle in Brookside, KY, located in Harlan County. He was one of four children, the only son amongst two older sisters and one younger sister. Lee was a Veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1967 until 1969, when he was honorably discharged. During his time in the military, Lee was awarded the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB) and the Purple Heart.
Lee married the love of his life, Linda, on December 24, 1968. They have just recently celebrated 55 years of marriage. Together, they had two children – Kristopher Lee Miracle and Tiffany Renee (Judd) Miracle. Over the years he took on his most favorite role as papaw to four grandchildren, Garrett and Cason Miracle and Edy and Lukas Judd.
Lee was a 1980 graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Finance and Real Estate and Urban Development. He spent his professional career with the City and County offices in Knoxville, TN with a combined service of 41 years. Before retiring in 2013, Lee served as Real Estate Manager for the City of Knoxville. Over the years, Lee has enjoyed several hobbies including woodworking, golf, photography, and coaching baseball. Lee was a 32nd degree, 50-year member of the Masonic Bright Hope Lodge #557.
He is preceded in death by parents, Hillary and Susie Miracle; sisters, Betty Williams (Hugh), Shirley Miracle,
and Lucille Middleton.
Survived by wife, Linda Howard Miracle; children, Kristopher (Ashley) Miracle and Tiffany (Robert) Judd; sister-in-law Jean McCaine; brother-in-law, Dr. Gary Hagerman; nephews, Doug Middleton (Norma), Neil Middleton (Stephanie); nieces, Cheryl Mason and Holly Fortson (Steve); and countless family members and friends as
Lee never met a stranger.
The family will receive friends at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 4:00 pm until the time of the Celebration of Life service at 6:00 pm with Reverend Richie Beeler officiating.
Family and friends will meet on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Hwy., at 8:30 am for a graveside service with full military honors provided by the East Tennessee Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made in his honor to either St. Jude or Shriners Hospital.
