Lawrence "Larry" Farrington, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
Larry was born on January 22, 1952 in Knoxville, Tn. He graduated class of 1970 from Halls High School. In his younger years, he had a need for speed. On any given night, you could find him street racing in his 69' Camaro on 640 or Loyston Rd. Those days created memories he cherished and loved to retell those stories to his kids and grandkids.
In 1971, Larry married his high school sweetheart, Dianna. Larry and Dianna were blessed to not only be married for 54 years, but to also be each other's best friend. Together they raised two wonderful daughters: Amy and Cindy. The true light of his life were his grandsons: Zane and Kobe, who he was so proud of.
Larry served 6 years in the Army Reserves with the 489t Civil Affairs company based at UT at that time.
He had a long and fruitful career at Renord Bearing Company for 40+ years before retiring in 2016. After his retirement, Larry enjoyed being able to spend more time with his family.
Larry and Dianna made a great team and enjoyed many hobbies together. They enjoyed spending time at the lake whether that be fishing, racing the bass boat they had, or relaxing. For many years they visited Daytona beach and frequented NASCAR races. Larry was a huge fan of all Tennessee sports. Once they became grandparents, being with their grandchildren on the weekends became their favorite past time.
Larry said many times some of his favorite memories were made spent the ball field with his grandsons.
Not only was Larry a great family man, but he also had an infectious sense of humor. His quick wit and sarcasm were bound to make anyone crack a smile. To know Larry was to love him. His legacy will live on in the lives of those who had the honor to know him. He will truly be missed by his friends and family.
If we can learn anything from the life of Larry Farrington, it is to live life to the fullest, love those who matter most to you, and laugh every chance you get.
