Laureen “Laurie” Dawn Rhea, age 70, of Loudon, Tennessee, passed peacefully from this earthly life on June 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Laurie shared more than 50 wonderful years with her devoted husband, Jim. Together they built a life on their small farm, where they opened their hearts and home to rescued and fostered animals. Her compassion for all living creatures knew no bounds, extending from beloved pets to the smallest insects and even the occasional copperhead snake.
A dedicated and hardworking professional, Laurie made a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Her final employment was with Radio Systems Corporation, where she was respected and valued by her colleagues.
Born to Earl and Gold Rhea, Laurie was the middle child of seven siblings. Family was at the center of her life, and she cherished every opportunity to be together-whether on beach vacations, at family reunions, during holidays, or at any gathering that brought loved ones together.
Although Laurie had no children of her own, she was deeply loved by many nieces, nephews, family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness, warmth and unwavering devotion.
While her passing leaves an ache in our hearts, we find comfort in imagining Laurie reunited with the many beloved animals she cared for throughout her life and those that went before her. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and enduring love for family and animals will be remembered always.
Laurie is preceded in death by parents, Earl and Golda Rhea; grandparents, Dewey & Nola Rhea and Charles & Zelma Smith.
