Larry "Shag" Kyle Taylor

Larry “Shag” Kyle Taylor age 63 of Corryton, TN passed away on September 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was retired from Knox County Engineering and Public Work after 30 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on old trucks and cars. He also enjoyed taking care of his chickens and farming. Larry accepted Jesus Christ many years ago in a hay field. He was proceeded in death by his father Olen Taylor and mother Cecil Taylor of Corryton; brother-in-law and best friend, Jerry Turner Sr. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Joyce Taylor of Corryton. His son’s Shane Taylor and wife Melanie, and Jacob Taylor and fiancé Taylor Thompson, and paps little girls his beloved granddaughters Ella and Olivia which he loved so much and along with his dog Blue. He also leaves behind to cherish his memories; his brother Kenneth (Dump) Taylor and sisters Carolyn Coffee (Steve), Connie Wollard (Robert), Janice Phelps, Daisey Cooley (Mike), and Nancy Nicely (Austin), a host of nieces and nephews, and special mother-in-law, Opal Turner. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a service to follow at 7:00 PM at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. On Friday, September 6, 2024, family and friends will meet at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel at 10:40 AM for a procession to Greenwood Cemetery for a burial at 11:00 AM.
