Larry Phillips, age 77, of Powell, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam, and retired from Reeder Chevrolet.
Larry had a love for riding motorcycles and watching Nascar.
He is preceded in death by parents, John C. Phillips, Jr. and Opal Elaine Dew.
He is survived by daughter, Lauren E. Parks (Matt); siblings, Betty C. Phillips (Tom Brown) and Karen S. Hutchison (Bob); several nieces and friends.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of The Lantern at Morning Point, and also special friend, Jenny.
Family and friends will meet on Monday, November 9, 2026, at 12:15pm at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, for a 12:30pm graveside service with full military honors provided.
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made in Larry’s honor to either the American Cancer Society or Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley.
