Larry Edward Burroughs

     Larry Edward Burroughs, 64, of Knoxville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Larry lived a life of faith, compassion, and a servant’s heart. He never met a stranger, never missed an opportunity to pray for someone, and never hesitated to feed a hungry soul—physically or spiritually.

    Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James Thurman Burroughs and Hallie Emogene Lyles Burroughs, whom he honored throughout his life. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lisa Ridings Burroughs; his children, Courtney Springer, Whitney Burroughs, Kristi Clevenger (Jack), and Jason Ridings; and his grandchildren, Maddie Clevenger (Tae) and Bryson Clevenger. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Brian Murphy (Missy), sister-in-law Angie Murphy, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, and cousins who loved him dearly.

     The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 5:00–6:00 PM at Redemption Harvest Church, 7824 Old Maynardville Pike, Knoxville, TN 37938. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 PM, with Pastors Jody Darden and Jason Berry officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Brown Gap Cemetery for a 2:00 PM interment, 6570 McFall Lane, Knoxville, TN 37918.

If Larry could speak to us today, we believe he would remind us that no one is promised tomorrow and that today is the day of salvation. He would urge each of us to accept the Lord as our personal Savior and remain steadfast in the faith until our names are called and see him again one day in Heaven.
