Kyle Lynn Branch, 72, passed away on September 23, 2025, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on January 25, 1954, in the same city he would later return to and call home, Kyle lived a life marked by dedication to his craft, deep faith, and enduring love for family and friends.
Kyle's early years took him far from Tennessee when he graduated from Frankfurt American High School in Frankfurt, Germany. Shortly after returning stateside, he began his service in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He served with honor for three years as a construction worker within the military before being honorably discharged. His time in the Army laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to hard work and service.
Following his military service, Kyle returned to Knoxville and began an apprenticeship with the Carpenters Local Union. Through years of dedication and skillful craftsmanship, he rose through the ranks to become a master journeyman carpenter. His career spanned decades and included work at notable sites such as TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority), Y-12 National Security Complex, and even contributions to the making of King Kong-testament to both his versatility and excellence in his trade. Eventually, Kyle became a business owner himself, continuing to build not only structures but also lasting relationships within his community.
Kyle was a man of Christian faith who lived by example-caring, loving, giving, and compassionate. He believed deeply in Christ as his Lord and Savior and carried that belief into every aspect of his life. Whether working on a job site or spending time with loved ones under an open sky, Kyle found joy in simple moments shared with others.
He especially cherished time spent outdoors with great friends and family— those rare occasions when all three came together were among his most treasured memories. His love for nature was matched only by his love for people; he had a gift for bringing warmth and laughter wherever he went.
Kyle is survived by his beloved daughter Pamela Branch Smith; stepson, Steven Blume; granddaughters Clara Rose and Molly Smith; brother Alan Branch and sister-in-law Patsy Branch; sisters-in-law Mary Branch and Irene Boggs; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will carry forward his memory with affection.
He was preceded in death by his parents Sam and Stella Branch; brothers Nolan Branch, Gordon Branch, Kenny Branch, and Samuel Branch.
A man whose hands built homes but whose heart built bonds that will endure beyond this life-Kyle Lynn Branch leaves behind a legacy of integrity, devotion, and love. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
