Kreela Brintnall

January 26, 1955 — March 3, 2024

Kreela Barringer Brintnall (69) of Knoxville, Tennessee went to be with her Lord and Savior on
March 3, 2024. Kreela was born January 26, 1955 to William Payton Barringer and Wanda
Pauline (Beshear) Barringer in McAlester, Oklahoma. She was a member of Shady Grove
Missionary Baptist Church and married Leonard Wayne Brintnall, the love of her life, on August
15, 1976. She graduated from McAlester High School in 1973 and received a bachelor’s degree in
Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 1976. Supporting her husband’s corporate
transfers, they lived in five states (OK, MN, KS, VA, and TN). Her professional career included
being an accountant for an airline in Oklahoma City, an accounting manager with Business
Express, and CFO for a manufacturing company in Memphis, TN. After moving to Knoxville in
2005, she established a business called Events Plus.
Kreela was truly a “renaissance woman” who ran in fifth gear all the time and had a wide range
of abilities, interests and talents. She played the piano, made couture clothing for a boutique
(including wedding gowns) and high-school band uniforms. She quilted, knitted, crocheted,
designed and built furniture, and was an expert gardener.
Kreela is survived by her husband Leonard Brintnall, their two sons and daughters-in-law, and
five grandchildren: Wayne (Katie) Brintnall and their sons Payton and Norris; Richard (Brooke)
Brintnall and their daughters Kiley and Megan, and son on the way. Additional family members
include her mother Wanda Pauline Barringer, sister D’Wanna Berg, brother George Barringer,
sister-in-law Marcie Barringer, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kreela was preceded in death by her father, William Payton Barringer.
