Kathryn Ellen Georgi

Kathryn (Kathy) Mynatt Georgi of Knoxville, TN went home to be with her Lord Tuesday evening, August 2 at the age of 72 after a long battle with ALS. Born to Jim and Jean Mynatt on June 4, 1950, Kathy was baptized at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, where her membership remained for the duration of her life. Kathy worked at Bellsouth, Davis Newman Payne Advertising, and finished her career with over 20 years at Phillips Magnavox, where she made lifelong friends. In 1992, she married her husband of nearly 30 years, Don Georgi. Kathy had a great sense of humor and loved nothing more than shopping, her cats, and the people closest to her. She was adored by her family in Knoxville and Fort Wayne, Indiana, her neighbors, and her caregivers. She is preceded in death by her parents Jim and Jean Mynatt and her father-in-law John Robert Georgi. In Knoxville, she is survived by her husband Donald (Don) Georgi, her sister and brother-in-law Judy and Randy Pyne, her niece Christy Turner (Matt), and her great niece Emma Kelly. In Fort Wayne, she is survived by her mother-in-law Opal Georgi, her brother-in-law Randy Georgi (Marti Smith), her sister-in-law Linda Cooper (Mike), and her nieces Lauren and Miranda Cooper). Special thanks to the caregivers who were like family to Kathy: Paul and Claudia Perez, Chelsea Barta, Hailey Nance, and Jameela Dompier. The family will receive friends Friday, August 5, 2022 from 5:00-7:00pm at Mynatt Funeral Home Fountain City Chapel.
