Kathleen Stanton Giles

Kathleen Stanton Giles, age 70, of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2026, surrounded by her family.

She loved going on adventures-whether it was hitting the slopes on a set of skis, traveling with her husband to the Caribbean, Europe, and Israel, or just being outside-Kathleen lived life and took in all that this world has to offer. Above all else, however, she devoted her life to her family, and even took care of others as she spent many years in the healthcare industry. She was the best grandmother and great-grandmother anyone could ask for.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Stanton and Betty Barksdale Vermy, along with her step-father, Wesley Vermy.

She is survived by her husband, Stuart; sons, Jonathan Giles (Lucinda) and Joshua Giles (Felicity); five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Michael Vermy (David) and John Stanton (Donna); step-mother, Joyce Stanton; and three step-brothers, Danny Hedgepath (Sherry), Mark Hedgepath (Omega), and Richard Hedgepath.

For Tennessee friends and family, visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Grace Baptist Church, 7171 Oak Ridge Hwy, Knoxville, TN, with a memorial service at 3pm. To view the service via livestream, visit the church website at gracebc.org

For Georgia friends and family, visitation will be held from 2-3pm on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Williams Funeral Home, 1670 N Jefferson St, Milledgeville, GA, with a memorial service at 3pm. Following the service, burial will take place at Reynolds Chapel Cemetery, Devereux, GA.
