Kathleen “Kathy” Sue French, passed peacefully on April 7, 2024 in her home in Knoxville, TN. She was born on November 20, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan to Robert and Virginia Gorst. She was married for 53 years to the love of her life and best friend, Gary French, and together they have one daughter, Amy.
Kathy was a loving, giving, funny, fiercely loyal, strong, and supportive woman who gave the best of herself to her family. She was a devoted follower of Jesus. One of the greatest spiritual moments in her life was being baptized with Gary by their daughter Amy. She was a member of Trinity Community Church and her faith was the foundation of her life. Kathy was artistically talented in many forms and expressed her love through handmade clothes for her grandchildren and beautifully intricate quilts. She poured her creativity into beautiful pieces for those she loved.
Kathy leaves behind her loving family, husband, Gary, daughter Amy, son-in-love, Tyler Lynde. Her grandchildren Jordan (Noelle) Lynde, Hannah (Joel) Silverberg, Levi Lynde, Benjamin Lynde and great grandchildren, Hudson, Claire, Emma, and Nora, and her sister, Virginia Nichols.
Family and Friends will meet on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 8:15AM at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy for a 8:30AM Graveside Service.
