Katheryn Marie Speeks

Katheryn Marie Speeks, age 101, Powell, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 19, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Speeks, son, Daryl Speeks, and grandson, David Rainwater.

Katheryn will be deeply missed by her daughter, Judy Rainwater (Charles), sons Lester Speeks, JR (Theresa) and Gary Speeks (Violet). She was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Kelley Cantrell (Craig), Mike White (Crissy), Karen White, Jamie Pack (Tim), Kathy Arsenault (Chris), Bobby Speeks (Lori), and Jennifer Marma (Jeff); 17 great grandchildren, and 21 great-great grandchildren.

A faithful homebound member of Callahan Road Baptist Church, Katheryn was known for her kindness, humble spirit, and unwavering faith. Her family is forever grateful for her long, full life and the legacy of love and faith she leaves behind.

The family extends special thanks to U.T. Hospice, especially Katarina Kataria and Tiana Thomas, for their compassionate care, as well as Joyce Risen and Caitlyn Arsenault.

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Powell Chapel, with services to follow by Chaplain Phil Groos.

Interment will take place at East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery-Lyons View Pike, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 1pm.

Pallbearers will be Derek Cantrell, Zach Cantrell, Mike White, Bobby Speeks, Thomas Arsenault, Corey Speeks-Coots, Cameron Speeks-Coots, and Artie Bethel.
