Julia Humphrey Cooper, 65, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Julia was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She had a heart full of love, a caring spirit, and a personality that could light up any room. She was an avid Tennessee Volunteers fan and rarely missed cheering on her beloved Vols. Julia also loved music, especially songs from ACDC, which brought her happiness and many cherished memories.
More than anything, Julia treasured the time she spent with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, strength, kindness, and countless memories that will forever be held close by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dawn Stout; her brother, Jeff Humphrey; her Father Louis Humphrey, and her great granddaughter Saylor Berrier.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Ashley Gibson (Christian); her brothers, Robbie Hubbs, Jason Hubbs, Joey Hubbs, and Mikey Hubbs. Her sister, Jennifer Thomas. Her beloved grandchildren: Taylor (Drew), Skyler, Hunter, Azlee, Kaylie (Wesley), Kenzie (Nate), Arissa (Elijah), Amber (Josh), Autumn and Derek. Her great grandchildren, Emersyn, Bentley, Ahriyah, Grayson, Jayden, Nevaeh, Addison, Micah, Noah, Isaiah, and Marley, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Julia’s life during visitation on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home – Fountain City Chapel. Funeral services will follow from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Ronnie Dotson.
Julia’s love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
