Juanita Virginia Cox

JUANITA COX - Juanita Virginia (Allison) Cox was called to her heavenly home on Monday, January 22, 2024. Born and raised in Knoxville, Juanita built her life around strong tenants of family, faith, and hard work. She belonged to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church and spent much of her life there, building her community and worshiping the Lord. She was a people person and a true giver at heart; no matter who you were, Juanita would offer a warm hug and a bit of motherly advice. After marrying her true love, Jack, on September 22, 1956 and leading a distinguished career as the printing supervisor at Bike Athletic, Juanita retired to a life filled with friends and family. She loved traveling with her church group, cooking and baking for her loved ones, and whisking her grandkids away for beach trips and shopping sprees…somehow she could always find the parking spot right in front of the store! A beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, Juanita is preceded in death and now reunited with her parents, Albert and Ella Mae; brothers, Earl and Eddie; and sisters, June and Janie. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack; daughter Hazel (Allen) Norris; brother, Carl (Debbie) Allison; grandchildren Crystal Shontae (Mike) Trump, Derick (Tammy) Norris, and Darrell (Tammy) Norris; great granddaughters, Aubrey (Thomas) Skelton, Kelly Lovorn (Andrew Crenshaw), and Macey Norris; and great great granddaughter, Catherine Skelton. Please join us in celebration and memory of Juanita’s life. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church 6500 Strawberry Plains Pike Knoxville, TN 37914 starting at 2:00 pm until the service commences at 4:00 pm Dr. Bruce Martin officiating.   Family and friends will meet 10:45 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at Lynnhurst Cemetery for an 11:00 am graveside service.  Condolences may be left at www.mynattfh.com.
