Joyce Sharlene Smith

Joyce P. Smith, age 87, of Powell, TN, a lifelong resident of the Claxton community, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her home.

Preceded in death by husband, Jack Smith; father, Charles Plaster; mother, Laura Plaster; brother, Danny Plaster.

Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jerry Sellars; sons, Jeffrey Smith, Bart Smith and partner Lynne Massengil; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patti Plaster; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Missy Hester, Sharon Leitnaker and Bessie Jowers.

Special thanks to all the Amedisys staff that assisted with our mom’s care.

A memorial gathering will be 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Friday, June 5, 2026.  Family and friends are welcome to come and share stories of remembrance about Joyce during this time.
