It is with great sadness that the family of John J Sharp Jr. announce his passing on Dec. 7th at the age of 96. John moved from his home here on Earth to live with his heavenly father and loved ones gone before him after being on hospice for 11 months. He was a resident of Knoxville, TN. He lit up a room with his smile and loved to laugh and tell a good clean joke. He was an Army Veteran with the 5th Armored Division. He was an employee of The Standard Knitting Mill for over 40 years until they closed and he retired. He loved to play golf and played most every Saturday morning. He always walked and was able to play and walk the course up into his early 80’s. His happiest round was when he had a double eagle at Wallace Hills. Even with him playing golf he was always home early ready to spend time with his family. Family was important to John and he was always there for them. He loved going to Dollywood and watching The Kingdom Heirs. He also love going to The Great Smoky Mountains, that was a very special place to him and he visited often.
He will be loving remembered and missed by his daughter Shelia Cox; Grandchildren – Jerry (Christy) Sharp, Ronald (Jennifer) Cox, Jason (Shelly) Sharp, Tonya (Chris Sr.) Waddell and Tiffany Scarlett; Great Grandchildren – Chris Jr., Jonathan, Zachary (Alexis), Anastasia, Brooke, Cheyenne, Brittany, Hunter, Taylor and Wyatt; Great Great Grandchildren – Brookyln, Harper, Thomas, and Anson.
