John "Johnny" Wayne Giffin

John Wayne Giffin, age 76, of Knoxville, TN passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. John served in the U.S. Air Force and was employed by TVA, US Postal Service, Salvation Army as an Officer, and retired from Veterans Administration. He was of the Christian faith. John never met a stranger and was loved and will be missed by everyone. 

John was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Paul Giffin; and siblings, Barbara (James) Stalsworth, Betty (Phil) Phillips and David (Ella) Giffin. He is survived by his siblings, Mildred Lambertson, Wanda (James Curtis) Vickers, Carol Sue Giffin and Martha (Debbie) Ross; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm Friday, August 7, 2026, at Mynatt Funeral Home, Fountain City Chapel. Funeral service will follow with Sergeant Jeff Clark officiating. Interment will follow the service at Lynnhurst Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers, Donald Green/Bussell, Skye Stalsworth, Riley Stalsworth, Samuel Hensley, Timothy Sharp, and Ronald Phillips.
