John Paul Hickman passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. For 72 years, he brought light, joy, and laughter to his family and friends. He will be lovingly remembered for his warm smile, his frequent expression of “I love you,” and the happiness he found in spending time with those he loved — especially enjoying good meals with family and cheering on the Vols. He shared a special bond with his beloved “buddy.”

John is survived by his sisters, Carolyn French (special friend Jim Austin), Linda Dossett (Donald), Marcella Hickman, and Rose Kear; his aunt, Marie Owens; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 27, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mynatt’s Funeral Home Fountain City. Reverend Bill McCarter officiant. Interment will be Thursday, May 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery. David Grindstaff officiant.
