John Lee Gibson

John Lee Gibson, age 54 of Union County, passed away on July 27, 2023. He graduated Maynardville High School in 1986. He is preceded in death by his grandparents J.M. and Mary Gibson and Roy and Buela Brockwell. John will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle who we will truly miss. He is survived by his daughter Jahna L. Baker (Bradley), parents John and Dorothy Gibson, grandchildren Braxton Baker and Adalie Baker, brother Donny (Lisa)Gibson, nephews Cruz and Caleb Gibson, and niece Blair Smith. John Lee had a special saying: God didn’t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. Family will receive friends 4:00-6:00pm Monday, July 31, 2023, at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel with service to follow at 6:00pm. Family and friends will meet 10:45am Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Roseberry Cemetery for an 11:00am interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children's Hospital.
