John Edward Cardwell

John “Johnny” Edward Cardwell age 79, of Knoxville, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. He was a graduate of East High School and was a proud United States Air Force Veteran.

John was preceded in death by his parents, James B. and Helen L. Cardwell; brother, Danny Cardwell; and sisters, Donna Sue McCord and Deloris Miller.

John is survived by his sons, John Jr. (Christy) Cardwell and David B. (Kimberly) Cardwell ; grandchildren, C. Elizabeth Cardwell and C. Chase Cardwell; great-granddaughter, Gracee Layne Kirkland; sister, Diana (Milton) Cooper; and longtime friend, Mike Fielden.

An inurnment at East TN State Veterans Cemetery-John Sevier will be held at a later date.
